We headed to Denver last Friday (9/1) and got on the very early flight at 5:15 a.m. We woke up late but successfully hauled two children, three checked bags, two carseats, and various other items to the airport in La Crosse just in time. Quickly we were off to Mpls, had a brief layover, and then on to Denver by 8:15 a.m. MDT. We rented a Jeep Commando and then headed to Denver to meet Keely's brother Will who took us to his apartment, had some lunch at My Brother's Bar, and then went to the Denver Zoo. Gavin loved all the animals and even the adults liked it.

While we were there, we ran into our good friends from Rapid City, Cody and Angie and their daughter. Coincidentally, Keely and I were in their wedding party in Denver in 1997. It was great to see them and we actually made some time to visit later in the weekend at our hotel.

We did some shopping on the trip--back to school clothes for all of us, and an official Denver Broncos jersey for Gavin.
Sunday night was the rehearsal dinner at Maggiano's and the kids did pretty well for such a late night. I had to leave very early the next morning back home as I had to be back for my first day of school. Rylan (Keely's youngest brother) and Maia were married Monday afternoon at the Arrowhead golf course and Gavin was a ring bearer. The wedding went very well and G-money showed off his dance skills at the reception.

Keely had to haul the whole crew home on her own Tuesday and I met them at the airport at noon and took them home. Needless to say, it was an early-to-bed night.
